Legacies are when your family has helped or graduated from this college so you can get in the college with lower standards than everyone else. I.e my grandfather was a famous soccer player in georgia tech and he graduated from their and from what i read you need to have a 3.6 to get in the college but for me it would be around 3.3. But that is because a Georgia tech is very strict about legacy other schools legacy won't matter. Legacy can also happen when a student parent is giving the college money so if the students don't get accepted, the money gifts are probably going to stop. But some colleges just use the legacies as a tiebreaker If you and someone else are very similar in grades SAT etc. You if you have legacy will get the edge and win.
