College and careers.

Goals.
What are legacies for colleges.
What do legacies do.
An example of legacies.
http://collegeapps.about.com/od/theartofgettingaccepted/f/legacy-admissions.htm
http://collegeapps.about.com/od/glossaryofkeyterms/g/legacy-status.htm
http://chronicle.com/article/10-Myths-About-Legacy/124561/
Legacies are when your family has helped or graduated from this college so you can get in the college with lower standards than everyone else. I.e my grandfather was a famous soccer player in georgia tech and he graduated from their and from what i read you need to have a 3.6 to get in the college but for me it would be around 3.3. But that is because a Georgia tech is very strict about legacy other schools legacy won't matter. Legacy can also happen when a student parent is giving the college money so if the students don't get accepted, the money gifts are probably going to stop. But some colleges just use the legacies as a tiebreaker  If you and someone else are very similar in grades SAT etc. You if you have legacy will get the edge and win.

Google Day 2.

What major is chosen most frequently
http://www.princetonreview.com/college/top-ten-majors.aspx
I this site it said Business/ administration is the one that is chosen the most.
What is the best college in the world
http://www.usnews.com/education/worlds-best-universities-rankings/top-400-universities-in-the-world
This is a site where you can see the top colleges and Harvard is third, I thought Harvard was the best. The best college is MIT and the top 3 are all american schools.
Should I apply as foreign or a citizen
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-admissions/209600-can-dual-citizenship-hurt-you-your-app.html
I should apply as a US citizen as it would give me more benefits and i could get in the college eaier than if I applied like a colombian citizen. But some say it wouldn't make a difference saying I would get the US benfits and the cultural benefits the Colleges see my colombian passport.
I want to learn what Major should i choose

GOOGLE 20%

I want to now how much it would cost for a good college (estimate)
I want to now how long to you have live in a state to get in state tuition.
What is ultimately better to have to undergraduate degree or 1 master.

For a college that is rated top 100 in the US cost from 30 grand up to 250 grand.http://businessmajors.about.com/od/payingforschool/a/CollegeCosts.htm
According to this site it says you have to live 12 months in the state to get the tuitionhttp://www.usnews.com/education/best-colleges/paying-for-college/savings/articles/2009/12/23/how-to-get-in-state-tuition
Having 1 masters degree is better than having to undergraduate degree even though having two would be helpful.

I learned in state tuition is a good way to cut your expenses in half and when it that amount of money it could be a life saver. The bad things is you would have to live in the state for a year and is only for public school.
Also you should really look for your school because bigger doesn't necessarily mean better.
think about what you're going to study because if you switch careers you'll lose all the time you've been in the other career.

Linux

I know nothing about this topic.
What is it, what does it do, who made it.

Linux is an operating system system.
It was released in 1991
Linus Torvalds was the main guy who created Linux
It is specially made for coding.
It is the third major brand of computers after Apple and Microsoft.
http://www.linuxfoundation.org/
http://www.ntchosting.com/linux-operating-system.html

This topic relates to my life because next time I'm going to buy a computer I will think about buying a cheap Linux instead of a expensive mac. Also it said in one site that Linux is made for coders so many of the sites i got to probably have been created by Linux computers.

What makes it a coding computer.

Design Project

1. We went to the evl but there are no residents there so we could only ask the employees. Most of them didn't play the game, the ones hat did liked the idea, but thought the game was to fragile and worried the catapult was going to break.
2. We couldn't get a picture because the catapult broke and they stole the ball, so they threw the game a week ago.
3. Our goals were to make it just the right difficulty and adjustable so it would be firm. We met our second goal but it was to hard.
4. The biggest problem we encountered was either balancing and supporting the board, or making the catapult  so it was resiliant and usable at the same time
5. When we found a way to make the catapult stay in a place, and make it shoot long enough. However  this design did not work to well on a larger scale.
6. I resisted the most because I wanted to keep it simple, Alejandro and Daniel wanted it to be more complicated.
7. The biggest doubt was the we wouldn't be able to finish on time because Daniel missed half the class and Alejandro didn't come to class but we were able to finish.
8. I was the devil advocate because I always questioned if we should do something wether it helped us in the end or not.
9. Without teamwork we wouldn't have been able to finish. The design process was easier but slower than I thought it would be. I learned i always question everything to see if it really should go on the design.

Day #3

We are going to follow ore descriptions from day one as this game was very fun especially to guys and we don't think were going to drop anything from the design.
The most powerful ideas is the catapult because it is our center piece
our game is perfect as it, right now it is very simple
first we need to make the hoops
then we glue the hoops on a backboard
then we make the catapult
the game is ready
i will bring a ball
alejandro will bring the hoops
daniel will bring the catapult
